Abstract

Here, for the first time, we provide a new architecture of classical logic gates via neutrosophic logic, a mathematical theory of uncertainty, indeterminacy, and inconsistency. Today’s classic Boolean and fuzzy logic gates struggle to model real world situations with incomplete and contradictory data. We generalize classical (AND, OR, NOT) with neutrosophic truth (T), indeterminacy (I) and falsity (F). We generalize algebraic operations of neutrosophic gates; define gate models and hardware level implementations. By comparative simulations, neutrosophic gates are shown to be almost as accurate as crisp gates under crisp inputs and significantly better than both Boolean and fuzzy gates under uncertain or noisy inputs. This architecture provides a bright direction in rock-solid logic design for next generation intelligent systems.
